Moray Rugby Club's second XV were given a competitive outing by a far travelled Skye team at Morriston on Saturday.

The success of Moray's first team in recent times has boosted numbers significantly at the club, enabling them to form a strong second string.

That team took on their western Highland opponents, who have only just reformed to bring a team back into the Scottish set-up.

With Moray first team playing Shetland on the same day, a total of 44 local players were in action at the Elgin venue.

The 2nd XV fought out a very competitive match which was decided by a relatively late try score, Skye's long journey rewarded with a 12-7 victory.
