Ryan Copland has triumphed in a thrilling Kynoch Shand Cup final to claim glory in Elgin Golf Club's five-day open.

The Moray Golf Club member pipped home player Jordan Milne to the scratch title by a single hole in a tense final.

Milne had endured a marathon day, having won his semi-final with Dean McPherson on the 28th hole, as ten extra holes were required to find a winner.

The former Forres Mechanics footballer ended up playing 46 holes of golf on the final Friday and was beaten by the tightest of margins.

Jordan's brother Cameron lost 5 and 4 to Copland in the other semi-final, with the eventual champion going on to claim a family double in the closing stages of the tournament.

Fortrose & Rosemarkie golfer Keith Logan won the WJ Clark Cup lower handicap competition, defeating Reece Mellis 5 and 4 in the final.

Elgin Golf Club claimed the winners of both the Engineers Salver and the Alan Milne Senior Shield.

John Morrison won the Engineers Salver, defeating fellow Elgin player Gary Webster at the first extra hole of a thrilling final.

Gary Cruikshank beat William McInnes in the seniors final, again by the slenderest of margins with a 1up victory on the 18th.

Maverston GC's Daniel Craib lifted the JAG Innes Cup, edging out former Highland League footballer Tommy Madden 3 and 2 in the final.
