MORAY RFC led the way for women's rugby by hosting a Scottish Rugby Union Woman’s Rugby Development Day.

Despite the snowy weather conditions, last Sunday's event attracted 25 woman players, from seven different teams from around the North of Scotland to Morriston playing fields in Elgin.

The group contained a good mix of experienced players from established league teams and a number of fairly new players from development teams.

With it being so cold weather, the coaches sensibly set out to keep the players moving through a mix of touch rugby games and skill zones.

To complete the session, a 12 a-side contact game was played.

Alongside the Development Day, a Woman’s/Girls touch rugby session was played as a taster.

The weather did influence numbers for this but 10 players, a mix of ladies and girls from the Moray RFC Thistle Girls team braved the weather and joined in.

All in all, it was a great session and enjoyed by all those that attended.

Thanks go to all who attended, to coaches who delivered the session and to everyone else who helped out to make it such a success.
