This was the first time that the festival had been played since the onset of the pandemic. It was clear to see from all that they were delighted to be back on the field playing games.

Eight clubs from over the north of Scotland were represented forming a total of 33 teams.

The micro section, primaries 1 to 3, divided into two groups and played a round-robin against each other, taking part in five games each.

The matches were played with great effort and skill and in a very sporting way with lots of smiling faces showing that they were enjoying themselves.

Eleven teams took part in the P4/5 event, again split into two round-robin groups. These games were very competitive with a lot of skill and good rugby on show.

Winners of the groups were a team from Highland and a team from Ross Sutherland, and they competed a final with the Invergordon side taking the plaudits.

A full complement of 12 P6/7 teams took part in a two-group round-robin schedule of games.

Once again, a lot of good running rugby was on show and a Moray team and a Highland team topped the group tables.

This produced a very exciting final with end-to-end rugby and at the end, the two teams could not be separated with the game finishing in a 6-6 draw.

All in all, it was a very successful day with all mini/micro teams getting plenty of game time and all showing great commitment and exemplary sportsmanship, a credit to their respective clubs.
