ROTHES will not be signing Ross County youngster Tom McLennan on loan.

Speysiders’ boss Steven MacDonald revealed that a protracted deal to bring the 20-year-old midfielder in until January had fallen through.

It is understood that County had been keen to farm McLennan out to Highland League football to give him games after a recent spell out injured.

McLennan guested for the MacKessack Park side in a midweek bounce game against Dufftown but the loan has not gone ahead.

Rothes will go with the same squad on Saturday when they play host to bottom club Fort William.

They will start strong favourites to win, having recorded a 5-0 success away to second bottom Strathspey Thistle last weekend.

Speaking about that game, MacDonald said: “The boys went out with totally the right attitude and went at them straight away.”
