Elgin City's Borough Briggs stadium hosts the annual Royal Air Force versus Police Scotland contest on Sunday (August 22).

Airmen, predominantly from the RAF Lossiemouth base, take on local police officers for the prize of the Jewel of Moray Cup.

The contest raises funds for local charities with the chosen cause this year being the Elgin Sports Community Trust, who have recently installed the Gleaner Arena sports facility at Borough Briggs.

The RAF will look to claim the glory for the first time, as it is the third time the competition has been held in the past five years with Police Scotland winning on both previous occasions.

Moray MP and leading Scottish football match official Douglas Ross will referee Sunday's match.

His assistant referees will be selected from the recent Scottish FA-affiliated Moray and Banff Referees Association courses.

The match will be open to family, friends, colleagues and members of the public, with donations being accepted for the chosen charity.
