HUNTLY manager Allan Hale has signed the third of his four summer transfer targets - and hopes to complete a full set soon.

Hale has brought central defender Michael Clark back for a fourth spell at Christie Park with the 26-year-old penning a three-year deal.

Clark had left Huntly for the Pitmedden side in 2018, and more recently had a loan spell at Deveronvale.

He was right at the top of the list in terms of targets we were going after.

Michael is a player I've admired for a number of years. he was the club captain at Huntly but it wasn't just important to bring him back because of his connection to the club, but to improve our squad and provide leadership qualities as well.

"Most importantly he wants to become part of what we are trying to build and play a key role in that.

"It wasn't easy for him leaving Formartine and he wanted to show he was capable of playing at a top team, so hopefully with our ambition and where we want the club to go, MIchael can still fulfil that ambition."

Hale has already brought in Colin Charlesworth from Deveronvale - who recently underwent cruciate ligament surgery - and Angus Grant from Turriff United, two players he was desperate to sign as part of his plans to rejuvenate Huntly's fortunes in the future.

Clark becomes piece number three of the jigsaw and Hale said he was close to confirming the signature of another from a fellow Highland League club who he sees as playing a big part of his rebuilding programme.
