And despite having to pick the ball out of his net more often than he cares to remember, Horne was able to celebrate this week with an award.

Horne won the ‘Save of the Season’, as voted by fans, in the SHFLtv poll.

He said: "This makes all the hard work at training worthwhile. It is nice that fans voted for it who watched the TV channel.

"The goalkeeping standard in the Highland League is pretty decent so it was nice to come out on top."

Former Aberdeen and Scotland defender Brian Irvine presented the award to Horne in a ceremony at the Grant Arms Hotel in Fochabers on Monday night.

Keith keeper Daniel Bell (who was on loan from Buckie Thistle) and Lossie’s Errol Watson also featured in the top ten saves, while Keith’s Craig MacAskill and Scott Lawrie of Forres Mechanics finished fourth and second respectively in the goal of the season. Andrew Martin of Fort William picked up the top goal award for a screamer against Buckie Thistle.
