A MORAY football team's shirt has been laid at a Naples shrine dedicated to legendary footballer Diego Maradona.
Rothes supporter Alan Farmer laid the Speysiders shirt at the shrine in Quartieri Spagnoli, near the centre of the southern Italian city.
Argentine Diego Maradona, believed by many to have been the finest football of all time, died in November 2020. He spent a large part of his career with Napoli, winning Serie A with the club.
He is adored to this day by Napoli supporters and thousands of tributes and shrines, from fans of clubs all over the world, have been left around the city since his passing.
Having visited the Quartieri Spagnoli shrine, Alan decided to return a few days later to add a touch of Moray and Speyside.
His Rothes shirt is nestled beside jerseys from elite European clubs CSKA Moscow (Russia), PAOK (Greece), CSKA Sofia (Bulgaria) and Marseille (France).
Rothes finish their Highland League campaign on Wednesday night against Huntly at Mackessack Park. Napoli, meanwhile, take on AC Milan in the Champions League quarter-finals tomorrow.
