Josh Peters' leveller saw the game end 1-1 – a point gained for the Speysiders, according to a pleased Wilson.

He said: "I had maybe a chance or two other than my goal that I could have taken but I'm happy overall.

"It's a big point gained against a good team that are challenging at the top. We have struggled to get any points off the top five or six teams this season so it was good.

"The boys dug in excellently well, held the shape well and kept it solid, so we are delighted to get a point, but at the same time we had our chances to win the game."

Former Inverness Caledonian Thistle youngster Wilson revealed his own aims, and his club's aims, for the remainder of the campaign.

He added: "I'm hoping to get to 20 goals and then go above that if possible.

"Our aim as a club is to finish as high up the table as we can. We know it's been a disappointing season in a way because we didn't perform as well as we should have at the start.

"The bad start we had was hard to take because we knew we were capable of more – now we are showing that and getting points on the table and we have to keep climbing it."

Rothes take on Turriff United at The Haughs on Wednesday night, before hosting Huntly at Mackessack Park on Saturday.
