RUNAWAY winner of ‘The Northern Scot’ 10k series, Ben Livesey, was delighted to finally get his hands on the overall trophy.

His fourth successive victory in the Benromach Forres 10k ensured a clean sweep and his first overall success in the ‘Scot’ series.

Livesey, now running in the colours of Birchfield Harriers, put in another dominant performance to storm to victory.

The 32-year-old has been head and shoulders above the competition this season and again had to run virtually on his own for most of the race.

"In the past I have always missed the Elgin race due to other commitments, but this year I was able to take part, so it is good to win the series," he said.

Inverness Harrier Melissa Whyte won the women's overall title for the third year in a row with victory at Forres.

See 'The Northern Scot' on Friday for a picture special from the Benromach Forres 10k.
