Three Forres skaters among 11-strong Highland Synchronised Ice Skating team crowned Scottish champions at Trophy D’Ecosse in Dumfries
Three Forres women have been crowned Scottish champions in the sport of synchronised ice skating.
Cara MacKintosh (19), Cenedra Robb (19) and Katie Scotson (26) competed as part of the Highland Synchronized Ice Skating club’s Highlanders (adult) team at the Trophy D’Ecosse competition in Dumfries.
The Inverness-based club had four teams taking part with both the Highlanders (oldest) and Highland Pups (youngest) teams winning the Scottish title.
Most of the club’s training takes place in Inverness but sessions are also held in Elgin and Aviemore this year when the Inverness Ice Centre is closed in the summer.
“This (Trophy D’Ecosse) is an international club competition with teams from around the world and is also the home of the Scottish Championships,” said club spokeswoman Sarah MacKintosh.
“The Highlanders had an amazing skate and were crowned Scottish champions. They also came away with a bronze medal in the overall competition, and an award for most entertaining skate of the day across all the categories competing.
“We had three other teams competing who also did extremely well and our juvenile team also became Scottish champions in their category.”
Of the Forres skaters involved in the title-winning adult team, Cara and Cenedra joined the club in 2018 and Katie in 2021.
