The Speysiders travelled to Buchan with a heavy injury list and had to field four trialists in their squad.

Junior players Ryan Stuart and Scott Davidson debuted for Rothes while injured front man Craig Macmillan had to sit on the bench to make up numbers.

The depleted Moray side held their own for the bulk of the first half and trailed just 1-0 to a Michael Rae strike as the game headed for half time.

However, two more strikes by Steven Davidson and Ryan Christie just before the break made the scoreline 3-0.

Davidson added two more after the break with sub Aidan Combe and Grant Noble also on target as Rothes heads went down.
