MISSED chances cost Buckie Thistle a place in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup on Saturday.

Jags gave League 1 hosts Stranraer a good challenge before going down 3-1, with match highlights from the William Hill Scottish Cup YouTube site below.

The Highland League side stayed overnight in Ayr to break up their marathon journey to the south west, but were made to rue missed opportunities.

The video shows skipper Lewis Mackinnon and striker Dennis Wyness passing up good chances either side of Stranraer’s first half goal.

And after the home side went 2-0 up, Paul Napier pulled one back with a fine finish before Chris Angus was denied by a spectacular double save from the home goalkeeper.

Angus was later sent off for a rash tackle which earned him a straight red card.
