KEITH manager Darren Still saluted club stalwart Derek Nicol after he hit his 200th goal for the club in the 2-1 Aberdeenshire Cup win at Inverurie Locos.

Nicol and Cammy Keith grabbed the late extra-time goals which clinched a place in the next round.

Still was delighted to see Nicol hit his milestone goal for the club.

"We have our centenary dinner in October and Derek will go down as one of the club’s great players," he said.

"It is a remarkable achievement to score 200 goals for one club. I keep reminding him that I probably set up about 150 of his goals," joked Still.

"I played with him mostly when he was a centre forward and he would regularly get 20 goals a season. He has been a great servant to the club and a great friend."

Locos get an early chance to avenge that result when they visit Kynoch Park on league business on Saturday.

Before then, Buckie Thistle are in Aberdeenshire Cup action tonight (Wednesday) when they face Cove Rangers at Victoria Park in a repeat of last season's final.

Rothes also face Forres Mechanics at Mackessack Park in the North of Scotland Cup.
