Manager Gavin Price will complete a deal with Tayside junior side Lochee United to bring in defender Aaron Whitehead.

Moving in the opposite direction is winger Jamie Reid, who had requested to leave City.

Whitehead (26) is a 6 foot 2 inch centre half who previously played at Jeanfield Swifts – where Price was boss - alongside current City duo Chris McLeish and Chris Dodd.

“I’ve watched him before and I know plenty about him,” said Price. “He’s a big, strong lad who’s got the potential to do well at this level.

“He’ll add a bit of competition to our defensive side and provide cover that we don’t have at the moment.”

Whitehead comes straight into the Black and Whites squad for Saturday’s League 2 match at Annan Athletic.

Reid (23) moves to Lochee as part of the deal to bring Whitehead in.

The former Dundee player joined City for a second spell last year, and lost his place in the starting line-up in recent weeks.
