The 74-year-old briefly stepped down from the role during the summer for family reasons, returning at the start of the current campaign.

He has now quit his position as chairman and director of the club with immediate effect "for personal reasons", the club has announced.

"Graham has served the club as a board member since 2005 and has had a huge impact on football at every level across the North of Scotland during this time," said the club statement.

"Everyone at the club would like to place on record their thanks for his dedication to the club."

Vice-chair Isla Benzie, who temporarily replaced Tatters as chairperson when he took leave in the summer, will lead the club in the interim along with remaining directors Grant Shewan, Cecil Jack and Chris Foot.

Tatters' resignation comes at the end of a shocking year for the club which saw three managers depart since April, leading to this month's appointment of Allan Hale as new Borough Briggs boss.

City finished second bottom of League 2 in each of the past two seasons and currently hold that same position after back-to-back 4-0 defeats to East Fife and Spartans.
