Tough Duff sweats his way through the keyhole

ELGIN City defender Jamie Duff is set to undergo exploratory keyhole surgery on his right knee in the next fortnight.
It looks as if the Borough Briggs skipper will miss at least the first month of the new season which starts tomorrow (Saturday) with a Petrofac Training Cup clash at home to Stirling Albion.
However, Duff is relieved the injury is not more serious after being sidelined for a year earlier in his career after tearing his cruciate ligament in the same knee.
Duff has been unable to take part in games since injuring the knee in pre-season training.
The player got the results of an MRI scan on Tuesday which revealed some possible cartilage damage and bone bruising.
However, the full extent of the injury won’t become clear until Duff undergoes an arthroscopy, but he is confident he will return sooner rather than later.
“I will get some keyhole surgery to tidy up any damage. I won’t find out exactly the damage until they get in there and that will determine how long the recovery is,” he said.
Duff suffered a career-threatening cruciate ligament injury while with Inverness Caley Thistle.
