Trio of Elgin Amateur Swimming Club members win medals at North District Open Championships

A TRIO of Elgin Amateur Swimming Club members came home with medals from the North District Open Championships.

A total of 13 'A' squad swimmers qualified for the competition, which took place across November 4 and 5 at Aberdeen Sports Village.

Seven members reached finals and North District Junior titles were won by Abbie Mitchell (14) in the 200 metre breaststroke, Taylor Sinclair (16) in the 800m freestyle and Jessica Powell (16) in the 400m individual medley.

In addition, many personal bests were achieved. Head coach Andy Summers said: “It’s great to see three Elgin swimmers achieving Northern District Junior Champion titles. This proves they can compete with the very best in the north of Scotland.”

Taylor Sinclair, Rowan Brown, Fraser Mcglaughlin, Lewis Paterson, Logan Reid, Archie McDonald, Abbi Mitchell, Ella Garrow, Beth Manson, Maya Cheshire, Caitlin Parnaby, Grace Powell, Jessica Powell were the 13 that swam and had a really successful weekend.
