ELGIN City are back in the play-offs chase after their first away win in four months.

Elgin City TV highlights (above) show City produce one of their best performances on the road this season to beat Stenhousemuir 2-0 on Saturday.

The Black and Whites will return to fourth place if they can defeat Berwick Rangers away on Tuesday night.

Manager Gavin Price went with a 4-1-4-1 formation at Ochilview, recalling goalkeeper Brett Long and defender Cammy Eadie and pushing St Mirren loan stopper Andrew McDonald into a holding midfield role.

Chris McLeish's clinical side-foot finish from a Brian Cameron pass put Elgin ahead on 24 minutes.

The visitors had an escape in the second half when keeper Brett Long saved and Jordan Allan cleared the rebound off the goal-line.

Darryl McHardy forced a corner with a headed effort and when Allan's kick from the left piocked him out at the back post he nodded home to make it 2-0 on 56 minutes.

Stenny then had Mike Marsh sent off for fouling McLeish for his second yellow card.

From the free kick Jon-Paul McGovern curled the ball against the crossbar.

Cameron also fired an effort off the woodwork for City, who finished on top.

Shane Sutherland came on as sub in the match and could be in contention for a start at Berwick on Tuesday.

Thomas Reilly is unlikely to be risked due to a head injury sustained at Cowdenbeath earlier this month.
