ELGIN City may be back in the League 2 play-off zone by manager Gavin Price isn’t getting carried away.

City’s impressive 5-1 win at home to Berwick Rangers on Saturday edged them up to third place in the league.

Elgin City TV highlights (above) show goals by Bruce Anderson (2), Darryl McHardy, Brian Cameron and Declan Byrne earn the Black and Whites’ biggest win of the season.

But Price believes his team will need to up their points tally in what he feels will be a closely fought league.

“There’s not a lot between the top five teams in terms of points,” he said.

“What this result got us is three points away from Berwick. It puts us six points ahead of the clubs in that next group.

“It gives us a wee cushion there but we are going to have to keep winning these sort of games to maintain the top four position.

“I think it’s going to be a different league this year. It will need more points than last year to reach the play-offs.”

City’s next test is when they travel to play Annan Athletic on Saturday.
