ANNAN Athletic enjoyed another Moray visit after inflicting a dent on Elgin City’s League 2 challenge on Saturday.

A week after ending Rothes’ Scottish Cup hopes, the Galabank side returned north to beat Elgin by the same 1-0 scoreline.

Just as they did at MacKessack Park, Annan scored a superb goal then produced a strong defensive effort to see the game out to victory.

At Borough Briggs, Owen Moxon’s sizzling 25 yard effort on 38 minutes won the points for the visitors.

Elgin had the bulk of chances in the game but too many of them were off target.

Indeed the cloest to a second half goal came for Annan when Max Wright struck a post.

The Black and Whites have struggled to find any consistency in League 2 this year but will aim to return to winning ways when they visit Cowdenbeath on Saturday.
