TWO Elgin City wins in a row was mission accomplished as far as manager Gavin Price was concerned.

Far from hitting their best form on Saturday, City managed to beat bottom side Cowdenbeath 1-0 at Borough Briggs (see Elgin City TV highlights above).

A scrappy late goal by centre back Cammy Eadie, his first for the club, earned the home side full points for the second Saturday running.

The Black and Whites defeated Clyde 2-1 a week earlier, in response to the 7-0 humiliation at Peterhead which kicked off the new year.

"We seem to have that bit about us after the bad December," said Price.

"We were quite determined with these two home fixtures that we would get maximum points.

"It's the target we set and somehow we've manage to get them.

"Cowdenbeath made it a difficult game in terms of the way they approached it, defending deep and defending in numbers."

The Fifers had midfielder Kyle Miller sent off right at the start of the second half, but battled hard with ten men.

Eadie saved City's blushes with his first senior goal five minutes from time to keep his team in the play-off hunt.
