GAVIN Price is demanding a response from his Elgin City squad after their 7-0 thrashing at Peterhead.

City play host to Clyde on Saturday in a game where they desperately need to bounce back from their new year horror show.

"There has to be a response because it was unacceptable to lose a derby game in that manner," said City boss Price.

He has signed goalkeeper Iain Ross from junior side Broughty Athletic, who was injured while making his debut as a trialist in the Peterhead defeat.

"The goalkeeper getting injured at 2-0 didn't help and then it was just a case of poor goalkeeping, poor defending and goals far too easily going in that cost us.

"It's strange because it didn't seem as though it was a game that Peterhead completely played us off the park.

"But it did feel like they scored very easily when they went forward.

"All credit to them for not letting up and going for the jugular but I'm obviously disappointed with a few individuals on how they performed and how they finished the game."

New keeper Ross' groin injury could keep him out for up to three weeks so Marc Waters will play against Clyde.

Price could also be tempted to give a starting debut to Caley Thistle loan winger Zak Elbouzedi, who came on as sub at Peterhead, and centre back Aaron Whitehead whose signing will be completed in time for Saturday's match.

Ex-Lochee United stopper Whitehead has been on the bench as a trialist for the past two games.
