STEVEN Mackay gave his analysis of Elgin City's 1-1 draw with Forfar Athletic, his first game as assistant manager at the Moray club.

The 40-year-old revealed how he had four spells as a player at Elgin and is eager to help them find their holy grail of promotion from League Two.

MacKay will shadow departing City number two Keith Gibson for Friday night's match at Edinburgh City, after which he will assume the role himself.

Elgin grabbed a point with a Conor O'Keefe equaliser after trailing at the break to Forfar on Saturday.
