FORRES Mechanics thumped Huntly 6-0 to remain on course for a Highland League top five finish.

The Cans made it 13 wins from their last 15 league matches to overwhelm their Aberdeenshire hosts.

Allan MacPhee starred in the first half with a double, netting Andy MacRae's cross for the opener then converting a pass from the same player ten minutes before half time.

Centre back Graham Fraser got the final touch on a Robbie Duncanson free kick to add a third before the break.

Caley Thistle loan star MacRae turned from provider to scorer in the second half to maintain his superb recent record of scoring.

He netted for the seventh game in a row after 57 minutes for his tenth of the season.

Veteran Scott Moore notched his second goal of the campaign on the rebound midway through the half, and MacRae finished things off with his second near the end.

Mechanics stand-in keeper Euan Storrier was a virtual spectator with Huntly continuing their poor run of form of late.

Lossiemouth put up a good fight at Deveronvale but still went down to a 2-1 defeat.

Dane Ballard's 23rd goal of the season beat Lossie's on-loan keeper Trevor Dear on his debut after 12 minutes.

Ryan Farquhar's 12th of the season levelled things up for the Coasters on the stroke of half time.

However Vale pressure in the second half was rewarded with 15 minutes to go when Grant Noble crashed home his 14th of the campaign to send Lossie to their fifth straight loss.
