WOMEN at Moray Rugby Club made history on Saturday – playing a league fixture for the first ever time.
Moray Women were beaten 55-18 by Highland, but the Caledonia North Region Division 2 clash was a historic one nonetheless.
The game, which took place at Morriston, was watched by a sizeable crowd who appreciated the rugby on show.
Moray put in a spirited performance in their first ever league game and scored three good tries through Hannah Chisholm and Merewalesi Seru (2).
This Saturday, Moray Women make the long trip to Thurso to play Caithness Krakens in a league fixture.
In addition to the men's firsts side, who beat Highland 27-24, Moray Seconds were also in action at Morriston when they played Inverness Craig Dunain in a Caledonia League Division 2 North fixture.
The Inverness side won 48-32, but the Moray Seconds side were always in the game and secured a bonus point by scoring five tries.
This Saturday, they welcome Kinloss Eagles to Morriston for another tough fixture. Kick-off is 3pm.
