ELGIN Cycling Club's Duffus Women's Road Races have been given the go-ahead for the weekend.

The club said that, "after extensive consultations and in line with current guidelines", the road race will take place this Saturday, September 17.

There will be two events – one at 9.30am and one at 1pm – and both preceded by a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, followed by a minute's silence and reflection.

Both events will start in Duffus, and the route travels up the Elgin road, Drainie Road, north on the B9135, along the Lossiemouth-Hopeman road, and back into Duffus.

Elgin Cycling Club wishes to thank all organisations along the route for their support of the event at this time, and all drivers in advance for their usual care and courtesy.
