THE enthusiasm and experience of striker Dennis Wyness (pictutred) has shone through in pre-season training for Elgin City manager Ross Jack.

The former Aberdeen and Caley Thistle star is one of three summer recruits so far.

And Jack said he can’t wait to see Wyness in competitive action for the Borough Briggs club.

"His enthusiasm and fitness has been outstanding and he is giving the younger players a run for their money in training," he said.

"His ability is second to none and his experience and enthusiasm is already rubbing off on the rest of the players. There is a good buzz when Dennis is there."

Jack is still hoping to add another two new faces to a squad that reached the promotion play-offs last season and has remained largely intact.

"The attitude in training and the way the boys committed themselves to contracts has been fantastic. I think they all feel they have some unfinished business after last season."

With the first pre-season game next weekend at home to Cowdenbeath (Friday, July 6), Jack is keen to put the finishing touches to his squad.

"We don’t have the same scramble we had last year in getting signatures at the last minute."
