IN an exclusive Northern Scot interview, St Johnstone teenager Liam Gordon says he is enjoying his loan spell at Elgin City.

The 19-year-old was supposed to be on City’s sub bench against Arbroath on Saturday but was drafted in after Mark Nicolson aggravated an injury in the warm up.

In his audio interview (click above) Gordon spoke about sustaining a head knock just minutes into the game, but how he stayed on to be part of an important Elgin win.

He tells how City’s home form could help them make a promotion bid this season, and how he was happy to be on the winning side against an Arbroath side who he had a loan spell with last season.

And he called Elgin a great club, saying manager Jim Weir’s own experience as a centre back during his own career is helping to improve his game during his loan spell.

Gordon also mentioned the advice he is getting from Saints manager Tommy Wright, and his hopes for the future.

Don’t miss Friday’s Northern Scot print edition for another exclusive interview with new signing Dylan Easton and more news from the Borough Briggs club.
