AN Elgin-based wedding band has been named the best in Scotland.
Diamond Skies took the title at the Scottish Wedding Awards earlier this month at a ceremony in Glasgow.
It was the band’s second title having also been named best in the country in 2022.
Drummer Craig Sim said he is proud to show that a band from a “little place like Elgin” can compete with those in the Central Belt.
He said: “We’re absolutely over the moon.
“This came as a huge shock but we are delighted nonetheless.
“To win the award at the 2022 awards, awarded highly commended for 2023, and then win it again in 2024, shows that we are doing something right and people are thoroughly enjoying us and supporting us.
“The support we have had over the years from the couples who book us, the event organisers, and our family and friends has been outstanding and we can't thank them enough for that.
“To win an award like this not only once but twice shows that a band from a little place like Elgin can compete with the other bands in the Central Belt who, quite rightly, have a very high reputation for the services and sound they produce.”
Craig formed the band alongside Jessie-Ann Flett, Callum Ord, Scott Ramsay and Daniel Pearson in 2015.
Before long they had become a staple of the north east wedding scene with their range of "floor fillers".
Craig added: “We go above and beyond for couples which I think has helped us get so far.”
