SEPA have issued a flood alert, which is less serious than their local flood warnings, for the Findhorn, Nairn Moray and Speyside areas.

The warning mentions a risk of flooding in some areas from tomorrow (Saturday, December 23) to the early hours of Sunday (December 24).

According to the warning, tomorrow's forecasted downpours mean that "some isolated localised flooding from rivers and surface water is likely in some areas".

The organisation added that possible melting snow could also pose a risk, with the Met Office forecasting snow across Moray tomorrow.

A yellow ice and snow warning for Moray will begin at 9pm tonight and will last until Noon tomorrow.

The Met Office have also confirmed a yellow wind warning, which will be in force from Noon on Christmas Eve until 3am on Christmas Day.

A spokesperson for SEPA said: "On Saturday, during the day and continuing into Sunday, some isolated localised flooding from rivers and surface water is likely in some areas due to very heavy rainfall on Saturday, along with possible snow melt.

"Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.

"Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.

"This flood alert update is now in force until further notice.

"If you haven't already signed up to receive free flood messages, please call Floodline or register online.

"Your Floodline quick dial number for this area is 22300."
