The store on the town's High Street has been closed since it was ravaged by a deliberately set fire on August 12.

Staff were praised at the time for their reaction and the way they escorted a disabled customer to safety after the blaze broke out just before closing.

The store was extensively damaged after products were set alight in one of the aisles.

While work continues to repair the fire damage and repair the frontage of the building which had already been under repair for subsidence issues, Poundland has confirmed it is moving in to the former Poundstretcher store in Thunderton Place, next to TX Maxx.
