Councillor Jérémie Fernandes (SNP, Elgin City North) reported the vandalism to council officers and said it was not the first time he had done so.

Police Scotland are now urging for people to come forward and help the investigation if they have any information.

Sergeant Peter Campbell said: "We have been made aware of graffiti at the Elgin Skatepark with racist slogans and images appearing over the past few months.

“These have no place in our society, especially at a well used community facility.”
