A KISS and a cuddle worth their weight in gold.

Lachlan Stewart (3), from Lossiemouth, gives his Granny Cakky (Catherine Borrie) a big kiss and a hug after being reunited on Monday night.

After three and a half months separated by lockdown, it was an emotional reunion for the pair.

Lachlan has recently completed two years of treatment for high risk neuroblastoma and has been given the all clear.

Being stuck indoors was relatively easy for Lachlan and his family but missing his granny was the hardest part.

"As a family as we had to do this (stay indoors) when his neutrophils was low for the risk of infection," said his mum Sarah Galbraith.

"He took it hard not seeing my mum as he was used to seeing her every day, sometimes more than once. It's great to be able to see mum again as Lachlan’s latest scans showed he is still free from the disease so this cuddle was worth it’s weight in gold."

Sarah (33), husband James (44) and other children Alistair (11), Alisha (10), Archie (7), Sarahjane (5) and Billie-Jo (1) have kept themselves entertained at home in Rockall Place.

For Catherine (56), of Forth Place, it has been hard being away from all her grandkids - she has 11 in total all in Lossiemouth.

"They were absolutely buzzing to see each other," said Sarah. "Lachlan went running straight to her."

Lachlan's latest scan was clear and he will now undergo regular scans to ensure the disease remains in remission.

Sarah admitted home schooling has been the biggest challenge for the school-age kids, who all attend St Gerardine Primary.

"They have all been good and got their heads down and got on with it," she said.
