Slight rise takes Moray coronavirus cases to 39

THREE new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Moray since yesterday's update.

The Scottish Government is now updating the total number of cases in each local authority daily at 2pm, with an update on deaths per local authority being released weekly, on a Wednesday at noon, by the National Records of Scotland.

Today's update shows the number of cases in Moray has risen from 36 to 39.

Daily updates of cases per health board are continuing as normal, and there are now 835 cases across the NHS Grampian area. Yesterday's weekly update regarding deaths showed there have been 129 across the region.

Scotland-wide, there are now 11,353 confirmed cases of coronavirus. A total of 1475 people who have been confirmed as having covid-19 have died (yesterday weekly NRS update showed 2272 have died with covid-19 mentioned on the death certificate).

There have been 43,286 negative tests in Scotland, with 2583 people who have tested positive recovering and being discharged from hospital.

At present, 40 per cent of care homes across the country are reporting a case of suspected coronavirus.
