THE fabulous Wade brothers had more than a thousand reasons to celebrate after completing their 26.2 mile challenge.

Thorfinn (4) and Lachlan (2), from New Elgin, completed the Mini Wades Mini Marathon on Sunday with help from mum Nikki and dad Paul.

Nikki said: “We are absolutely delighted to have raised a fantastic £1050! With a few more being added. The boys did a wonderful job.”

The Scot reported last week how the brothers were walking the full marathon distance in nine days. The money has been donated to the Moray Baby Bank which was founded by Susan Sutherland in January 2019.

The charity works with various referral agencies in the Moray area including midwives, health visitors, social workers and crisis aid departments to assist families in financial distress who cannot afford the essentials for their baby.

Susan said: “The boys did really well and raised a lot more than they thought they would. We will use the money to buy nappies, high chairs and cot mattresses.”

The charity is helping a number of families who have seen their household income badly affected by Covid-19.
