Aberlour athlete James Wilson claims victory at the Moray Road Runners 10k at Miltonduff

James Wilson proved too fast for the chasing pack as he cruised to victory at the Moray Road Runners 10k on Sunday.

The Moray Road Runners athlete claimed victory at Miltonduff as he crossed the finishing line in a time of 31:54.

The Aberlour athlete followed up his victory at the Nairn 10k earlier this month.

Shaun Cumming of East Sutherland Athletics Club was in second place in 32:21 and Donnie Macdonald of Inverness Harriers was third in 33:01.

Muir of Ord teenager Caitlyn Heggie continued her dominance of the 10k circuit in the north as she cruised to the women's title at the Moray Road Runners 10k.

The Dingwall Academy sixth year pupil put in another excellent performance to capture the title in a time of 36 minutes and 38 seconds at Miltonduff.

Heggie followed up her victory at the Nairn 10k earlier this month.

Despite winning the Moray Road Runners 10k title, the Inverness Harriers teenager was not eligible for the North District Championship due to only being 17.

The North District title went to Gemma Cormack of Moray Road Runners, who finished in second place in the race in 38:08.

Helen Leigh of Highland Hill Runners finished in third place in a time of 38:31.
