Fraser Wilkinson will return to his home area of Moray to fight his tenth professional boxing fight in May.
The 23-year-old, from Hopeman but now based in Aberdeen with his professional team, has confirmed he will headline a show at Elgin Town Hall on Saturday May 4 - the same venue where he won a Scottish title.
Last year he trained in Mexico at the gym which honed the skills of legendary fighter Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and defeated former Olympian Serge Ambomo for his eighth victory in nine bouts so far.
After that win on December 2, Wilkinson said he was eyeing up another home town show in 2024 and Northern Sporting Club have announced a date for what could be the biggest-ever boxing night in Moray.
Wilkinson last fought in Elgin in December 2022, in what was billed as a double Scottish title tilt for Moray fighters.
Fellow former Elgin Amateur Boxing Club product Andrew Smart was scheduled to fight for the Scottish welterweight belt on the same evening but his bout was pulled at the 11th hour.
Wilkinson defeated Arbroath rival Corey McCulloch that night to claim the super welterweight crown, but suffered his only defeat in the professional ring in the rematch in Dundee six months later.
He recalls the atmosphere of Elgin Town Hall being one of the best he has experienced.
"I’ve spoken to people who have been to the Beach Ballroom, the Plaza and know boxing pretty well and they said they have never heard anything like it was in Elgin Town Hall that night.
" I expect this one to be even louder, definitely."
