ELGIN City chose a vital relegation six-pointer to produce their battling qualities and pick up a valuable three points on Tuesday night.
Defeat to Clyde would have left the Black and Whites just a point above their bottom-placed opponents, and deep in a scrap for survival.

And when they trailed Bully Wee after just seven minutes, it would have been easy for City to feel the pressure.
Instead, they set about the task of turning the contest around and fought back for a 2-1 victory which their efforts deserved on the night.
Perhaps fortune favoured Clyde when Liam Scullion returned a Tom McHale punch with an overhead hook back into the danger zone, sending the ball soaring over the Elgin keeper into the net to give his team a perfect start.
The home side needed to respond and they quickly drew level thanks to Russell Dingwall's sublime curling effort into the top corner, making it 1-1 after nine minutes.
City got into their stride and started pressing forward, but certainly got their own rub of the green ten minutes before the break with a great escape that Steve McQueen would have been proud of.
Clyde striker Jordan Allan beat the offside trap and lobbed McHale, with the ball destined to bounce into the net until it hit the frosty turf and cleared the crossbar by inches, instead landing on top of the net.
With Dingwall pulling the strings, Elgin chased a second goal but again had an escape early in the second half when Clyde sub Jaze Kabia saw a netbound effort take a nick off a defender and skim over.
Dingwall curled a foot past, then a loud penalty claim when Jake Dolzanski's header seemed to be handled on the line by Clyde skipper Craig Howie, but ref George Calder waved away furious appeals.
However, Dolzanski had a vital role to play when City scored what proved to be the winner with 11 minutes left on the clock.
Another header by the City centre back was stopped by Clyde keeper Jack Leighfield but he couldn't hold on to the ball and Dayshonne Golding pounced in the six yard box to net.
It was the Cove loanee's first goal for the club and may well turn out to be a priceless contribution, as it won the day and guided the Black and Whites seven points clear of their opponents in the battle to climb away from the basement.
